Terms of Reference : WNAH Project Coordinator (Bilingual).

About the Position
The Project Coordinator will report to the Regional Director, West and Northern Africa Hub, and is responsible for supporting and implementing WNAH projects, supporting the Program Manager in programmatic areas including strategic development of the Field Program and supporting Tech and Data specialists to respond to partners requests. The project Coordinator will be responsible for implementing WNAH projects at the Regional Hub level, as well as assigned parts of the strategy, implementation and reporting for various HOT projects. This position is remote, with travel foreseen (30% – 50% of time depending on projects) for project implementation, training and workshops to all HOT project locations.
About You :
HOT is looking for someone passionate about, and experienced in, managing and supporting regional and international field projects. You should be able to work within a fast-paced, international organization responding to urgent crises and persistent development issues. You should be excited about supporting multiple project teams and ready to travel to work with different teams in various field locations. At the same time, you should be able to work independently with creative and agile problem solving skills. You should enjoy working on a broad range of tasks related to program and project management across multiple locations and have prior experience working with HOT field programs.
Responsibilities
Provide on-site, field, and remote support for one or more country and / or local project lead by :
- Leading project implementation and management in WNAH
- Supporting project management and deliverables
- Providing support, as requested, in technical and reporting needs
- Providing support in local Implementing partner and donor relationship management as needed
- Ensure completion of project deliverables on time and on budget
- Act as a representative of the WNAH, providing targeted technical support for programs as required
- Serve as project manager or provide technical support when staffing restrictions require, fulfilling duties as appropriate
- Support Program Manager to improve and support field programs as required.
- Support Tech and Data Specialists to respond to different requests from partners
- Assist with proposal development and writing.
- Support the organization in building and capacitating local partners as part of strategic and business development at the project implementation level where appropriate
- Assist Program Manager in the development of processes, procedures and documentation for all HOT program areas
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications :
At least 4-5 years of professional experience with a minimum of 1 year of field project management experienceFluency in French and EnglishExperience managing and leading field work teams in West and North Africa,Experience with donor relations including overseeing reporting and deliverable requirementsExperience in GIS and spatial data analysis, including remote sensing and imageryClear vision of participatory data collection methods, open source / open data communities, and community involvement, preferably with OpenStreetMapExperience with mobile survey and data collection tools including, OpenDataKit (ODK),Kobo Collect and Xls form buildingExperience running training sessions, workshops or teachingProven ability to work independently and lead activitiesDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityDemonstrated understanding of open source and open data culture and ethos across cultural contexts.Able to travel and be deployed when needed based on project activities once safe to do soPassionate and motivated about open source and open data.Care deeply about humanitarian, disaster resilience, and development work demonstrated through prior professional experiences.Desirable Qualifications
Hold a university or college degree in a relevant field such as Geography, GIS, Disaster Risk Management, Urban Planning, Computer Science; or demonstrated equivalent humanitarian related experience.Experience with OpenStreetMap tools, such as JOSM and iD, QGIS, and field data collection methodsFluency in French and EnglishExperience in qualitative and quantitative data collection methodologiesExperience successfully overseeing project management for multiple projects simultaneouslyAre you missing a few of the technical skills listed?
